
Red River 1900 Man Accommodation Village
The Sino Iron Ore Project is one of the largest magnetite iron ore operations undertaken in Australia. The project, owned by Hong-Kong based CITIC Pacific Mining, marks China's continuing investment into the Australian resources sector.
Project Overview
The Sino Iron Ore Project involved the construction of a mine 100km south west of Karratha to export iron ore through Cape Preston. At peak construction the project employed 4000 persons which called for the installation of a significant accommodation village. The project management of the camp construction was awarded to VDM consulting group.
Scope of Work
Goodline were contracted by VDM to complete the installation of in-ground services and connection of buildings. Goodline's scope included:
- 27km of trenching and backfilling
- 11km of drainage piping networks
- 1.5km of fire services
- Connection of buildings:
- Potable water
- Fire water
- Sewer & drainage
- Testing and commissioning of building services
